What are the differences between the different types of competitions?

  • Open Skill Competitions - Players are matched against other available opponents.
  • Limited Entry - competitions have a predetermined number of entries/opponents and prizes with the competition closing once the last player completes their entry.
  • Progressive - players in progressive competitions may enter as many times as they wish until the competition closes. The prize pool will grow with each additional entry into the competition.

Can I play in the same competition more than once?

Players may participate in a competition as many times as they wish as long as there are spots available within that particular competition.

Players will be charged an additional entry fee if they select any of the available play options (except for free games).

Why is the competition still open after I completed my game?

When players participate in our competitions, they do not necessarily play their entries simultaneously.

If you play in a competition that does not yet have enough players, your score will be recorded and the game will remain open until all of the available spots in that particular competition have been filled.

Once all the available entries have been filled, the tournament will close and the prizes will be awarded to the winning player(s).

Is there a limit on how many prize game tournaments I can enter?

In most cases, we do not limit the amount of prize competitions a player can enter. However, there are two instances where a player may encounter a message that they are unable to enter additional games:

· Technical Difficulties - If a player has 4 open or "pending" competitions (if they experienced technical difficulties), then the system may not allow that player to join another tournament until those previous competitions have concluded.

· Matching - In order to maintain an acceptable velocity in a particular game type, the site may occasionally limit the number of prize competitions that a player can have open at any given time. These limits will vary depending on the number of players that are available and active in that particular competition type.

Additionally, slightly better performance, resulting in an extra bonus or higher board level, can lead to a much higher score. Please note that it is our policy that the game conditions be similar for all players participating in a specific competition. .

I seem to be on a losing streak. Any tips?

As is the case in all skill-based competitions where players compete against other players with varying degrees of skill, you may encounter winning and losing streaks. If you're playing against multiple opponents, losing several competitions in a row can easily happen, in the same sense, winning several competitions in a row can happen as well.

TECHNICAL TROUBLESHOOTING

I'm having trouble with freezing, lagging, slowness while playing. Is there anything I can do?

It is recommended that players use generally fast and strong connections to the internet (Cable, DSL, and higher) as players who use slower, and less reliable, connections may encounter more issues while attempting to play games. If your internet connection temporarily skips or "lags", the communication between your computer and servers may "break" resulting in a disconnection even if you still are able to visit other websites.

Here are some general tips to ensure that your connection to the internet is as stable as possible, reducing your chances of encountering freezing, lagging, or slowness while playing:

  • Restart your modem/router on a regular basis
  • If using a wireless connection, try to be within close range to your wireless router
  • If using a wireless connection, try using a "wired" connection to the internet to see if that makes a difference
  • Avoid using mobile hotspots (or "tethering") as your connection to the internet

Make sure your computer, or any other device using the same internet signal, is not performing any "bandwidth-hungry" operations such as downloading large files, streaming videos, etc.

Check your internet connection speeds:

We cannot, and do not, guarantee that players will never experience problems participating in the games available on our site (regardless of the internet connection or computer setup) as there are many factors involved that could cause difficulties on occasion that are beyond our control.

WINNINGS

I won/placed but haven't received my winnings. Why?

Prizes won in merchandise tournaments will be transmitted digitally or physically shipped to the winner. Please allow 3-5 business days for digitally transmitted prizes, and up to 4 weeks for physically shipped prizes.

How do I find out if I won/placed?

Players can receive Facebook notifications when they are declared the winner of a competition or they can view the standings of their competitions by going to their accounts. If the Winner Declared column states "Yes (Win)" then you were declared the winner of the competition or have placed high enough on the tournament standings to win a prize.

Can I win more than one prize in the same competition?

A player is only allowed one prize per competition. The player's highest score will determine what prize they will receive. For example, if a player places third in a competition and then re-enters the same competition and places first then he/she will only receive the first place prize.

How many players will receive winnings for a competition?

Prizes will vary depending on the competition. The available prizes for each competition will be listed in the "Prize" column of the tournament listings page before entering a competition.

What happens if there is a tie in a game?

In the event of a tie in a Trivia Bucks game, the prize is split between the tied players.

  • If there is only one prize for the competition, the value of the prize is simply divided evenly between the tied players.
  • If there are multiple prizes, then the prizes for the tied spots are added together, and the total is then divided equally between the tied players.

Prizes are not divided in Merchandise competitions. In the event of a tie in a Merchandise competition, the player who posted the tying score first will have finished ahead of the other tying player(s) and will be declared the winner of the competition.
